‘Beautifully curated, frightfully expensive’- this is a place to visit more with your eyes than your wallet. The textiles and wooden sculptures are magnificent, as are the slingshots, masks, and other Guatemalan traditional crafts on sale. If you can’t be bothered to hunt further, just give in and spend here- at least you’re getting quality. But what I would suggest is to spend some time browsing and noticing what makes these carefully curated objects noteworthy. Once you can tell quality crafts apart from the generic tourist trap crafts, head to Chichicastenango, where you can find the same things at a much better price.
NB The textiles here are particularly special- not to miss.
